Nick Tootle
What it says on my business card: Audit Partner
How long I've had those business cards: I've been a partner since June, 2006, but I started with the Firm in 1993. I started with the Firm in the IT department, and later moved into audit. At one point I decided to leave Kaufman, Rossin, to be the CFO for one of our public company clients. When I left, Jim Kaufman let me know that the door was always open for my return...and that was really true!
What I actually do: I audit public and private companies. One particular niche I've developed is auditing broker-dealers, but I work on a variety of industries. That keeps it interesting...
What I do when I'm not actually doing that: Spend time with my wife and son
What I wanted to be when I was a kid: Professional soccer player
Why I love it here: Management's mantra is that employees come first, clients second and partners last. It runs more that a close knit family than a 250 person company --
Lee Meyers
What it says on my business card: Director
How long I've had those business cards: I joined the Firm in June, 2006.
What I actually do: I'm leading the team that's building our practice in Ft. Myers and Naples. Which means I spend a lot of time serving clients...and a lot of time meeting new people, making new friends, and bringing in new business!
What I do when I'm not actually doing that: I love to play golf, and dabble in tennis
Something you wouldn't expect of me: I did a solo flight in a Cessna
Why I love it here: I love KR because of the support & encouragement management provides. I feel comfortable expressing my thoughts and I have the opportunity to take responsibility for engagements, but anytime I need assistance, someone is there for me.

What it says on my business card: Manager, KRFS
How long I've had those business cards: I've been with the Firm since 1997.
What I actually do: KRFS provides fund accounting and fund administration services for domestic and offshore hedge funds. I'm the Operations Manager, which means I help manage the teams and processes that allow us to provide exceptional client service.
What I do when I'm not actually doing that: Spend time with my daughter and wife...and go to as many Gator football and basketball games as possible
Something you wouldn't expect of me: I used to have a mullet and four earrings
Why I love it here: I love it at Kaufman, Rossin mainly because of the people and the culture. It is a work hard, play harder environment (which is how I try to live my life) and because management truly puts their employees first and puts them in a position to succeed.
Debbie Morrison
What it says on my business card: Tax Manager
How long I've had those business cards: Since November, 2003.
What I actually do: I help entrepreneurial business clients and high net worth individuals develop proactive tax strategies.
What I do when I'm not actually doing that: Escape into a good mystery novel.
What I wanted to be when I was a kid: A teacher
Why I love it here: Having previous worked at one of the Big 4, decision-making was a series of layers (the local office had to ask the regional office who had to ask the super-regional office who had to check with national). Additionally, as many of the national directives worked their way down into the local practice, they lacked any personal (human) touch...talk about being just a statistic.
Here, top management can quickly make/implement decisions, understanding the consequences as they know their staff, and know their markets. How incredibly refreshing not to be mired in so much red tape!
